Josiene James is an emerging production designer and technical all-rounder who aims to re-imagine classic stories and make theatre accessible to new audiences. Her time at QUT has been spent cultivating a passion for the theatre industry aided by working across multiple technical departments at QPAC, including lighting, staging and stage management. She took full advantage of internship opportunities, completing a secondment with the Hamilton props team and becoming a part of a student design team to represent Australia at the Prague Quadrennial Festival in June 2023.

Josiene is extremely interested in touring and hopes to create a career across many theatre design disciplines as a theatre technician, become an expert props fabricator, and create new and immersive worlds for theatre as a production designer. Most recently, Josiene has worked in the stage management department for Opera Queensland across their 2023/24 season and gone on tour with Queensland Theatre's The Scene Project as Tour Stage Manager.
